Our society today often confuses love with lust. True love,like the kind God shows toward us, is directed outward toward others not inward toward ourselves.
Therefore we are to show others God's unselfish love everyday. For it is written; "NOBODY SHOULD SEEK HIS OWN GOOD, BUT THE GOOD OF OTHERS."(1 CORINTHIANS 10:24) So; LET US NOT BECOME CONCEITED, PROVOKING AND ENVYING EACH OTHER".(GALATIANS 5:26) Instead we should be; "BE KIND AND COMPASSIONATE TO ONE ANOTHER, FORGIVING EACH
OTHER, JUST AS IN CHRIST GOD FORGAVE US. (EPHESIANS 4:32)
Also remember that there is joy to be found in giving to others without expecting anything in return! After all that kind of unselfish love is the kind that God fills His Children with, and expects His Children to show to one another as well. Jesus Christ said: "ASK AND IT WILL BE GIVEN TO YOU; SEEK, AND YOU WILL FIND; KNOCK, AND IT WILL BE OPENED TO YOU." - Matthew 7:7 NKJV
I believe that prayer is one of the most powerful things on Earth! "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." - Mark 11:24
This is because: "The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers." - 1 Peter 3:12
Now, these verses do not mean that everything we pray for we will get, however do mean that if it is God's will for us, our prayer requests will be answered the way we wish! After all
God knows what is best for us, and sometimes what we pray for would end up hurting us in the long run.
So trust in god's judgment, after all only He knows the future!
Therefore always: "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. and pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ. Pray that we may proclaim clearly, as I should." - Colossians 4:2-4
Also know: "We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our hope in our Lord Jesus Christ." - 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3

A scorpion, being a very poor swimmer, once asked a turtle to carry him on his back across a river. "Are you mad?" exclaimed the turtle. "You will sting me while I'm swimming and I'll drown."
The scorpion laughed as he replied, "My dear turtle, if I were to sting you, you would drown and I would go down with you. Now, what would be the point of that? I won't sting you. It would mean my own death!"
The turtle thought about the logic of his argument for few moments and then said, "You're right. Hop on!" The scorpion climbed aboard and halfway across the river, he gave the turtle a mighty sting.

The Celebration - 17th Anniversary
What an awesome God we have!
Saturday, 7:00 a.m. as delegates from Toronto 1 & 2 Churches getting ready to go to the promised JIL Praise Valley Canada Campsite, the 3 yellow busses were filled with the people of God in uniform: The Cari Group in Orange or Amber Color–symbolizes Christ as the Glory of God (Ezekiel 1:28; 2 Cor. 4:6; Rev. 21:23); The Tulabot Group in Yellow- describing the color of gold (Ps. 68:13); The Flancia Group in Green-a symbol of natural growth and life (Eze. 17:24; Isa. 15:6); The Uclaray Group in Comouflage- a soldier uniform; and the Ocampo Group in White-the color of purity, righteousness, heavenly and victory (Ps. 51:7; Matt. 17:2; Rev. 6:2). What a beautiful sight!
We arrived at Oak Lake campground just before the pouring of the heavy rain. A head count of 210 people gathered together inside the huge white Prayer Tent for the welcoming and orientation by Ptr.Imelda Cari, with all our bags, not a single word of complaint was heard. All were inspired as well with the warmth greetings from Ptr. Rose Gonzales.
“Grabe! Ang ganda ng lake!”, people said. And I looked around, I saw faces in awe, in excitement! Finally, they are stepping on the ground that God rewarded His children as a result of their prayers and obedience. Little children’s faces and eyes were well focused on the beautiful lake to the humongous trampoline, pedal boats and kayaks. In their minds, “when are we going to play in the water?”
Finally, before the lunch time, the rain stopped! Amazing how God really moves! He gathered His children in the Prayer Tent for prayers and orientation. God is really in control! Halleluiah!
The love, unity and cooperation were displayed during the setting up of tents. Like one big family working together. Having fun! Taking so much pictures!
No time was wasted! While some were having their fun games, 18 precious people of God were having their water baptism. Oh, to share, even the animals want to be baptized! A water “hog” came swimming in our front that almost got frightened everyone thinking it was a snake! We were laughing hard that we almost forgot that we were doing the “water baptism”.
The big night came. The campground was lighted with a huge bonfire. Cheering and presentations from every group was enjoyable! All were declared winners! Ptr. Bong Gonzales inspired us after with God’s Word. We had so much fun that we do not want to end up the night!
In the quietness of the evening, while inside our tents, we could hear almost everything: the wind blowing the leaves of the trees, even the unexplainable languages heard on different tunes from those who were fast asleep.
God loves His children! Sunday morning, some got up as early as 3:30 a.m. taking showers, preparing breakfast and for the final event of the anniversary celebration. In pajamas and blankets, the campground was filled up with natural beauties. Everything seemed very organized! I myself was amazed! More than 200 people, behaving in camping!
Around 9:00 a.m., children of God started to come out from their tents…in flowers! It looked like Hawaii is in Canada! The day was so gorgeous! Some people were seated and standing both inside and outside the Prayer Tent for the Sunday Service. Ptr. Nicanor “Bong’ Gonzales inspired us again, first with his personalized talk, the message on the “Your Kingdom Come” .
Before the final departure from the campsite, little children as well as their parents and friends requested if they could go for their final dip and swim for the day! And the gate to the lake was opened. No one else seems happier than the little ones. What a wonderful privilege and opportunity to be able to enjoy the goodness of the land because of God’s amazing love!
And by 3:30 p.m., everyone was packed and ready to go home!
We thank God for His marvelous works! We thank God for His mighty, awesome presence on that place! We thank God for all the partners in prayers, in finances and in kind. Truly, as we put our trust in Him, He will do greater things! Many good things happen always to His people as we put our confidence in Him! “But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him”- Jer. 17:7
It is a declaration that indeed, knowing with all our heart and soul that not one of all the good promises the Lord our God gave us has failed. Every promise He has for the JIL people has been fulfilled. Not one has failed. (see Joshua 23:14)
The 17th Anniversary Celebration of the Jesus Is Lord Church, Ontario Chapter is a special one, because not only it is celebrated separately by church group in 6 weekends, it is celebrated also on the combination of a perfect (1) and excellent (7) numbers, and on the 7th month (July). Praise the Lord!
